This is the story of an artist.

Per Henry Garman-Vik now lives comfortably in his native Norway , where he and his wife Suzanne enjoy a notable degree of recognition. But this has not always been the case. In these chapters, I have tried to capture the essence of the many relationships, frequent adventures and occasional adversities that have helped shape the personality and influenced the art of the man.

All the main characters described here are, or were, real people and, as far as human memories allow, the events related are those that actually took place. It is, however, impossible to vouch for the complete detail of every event or the accuracy of every word spoken and so I must apologise for any offence that my inaccuracies may give.

I would also like to record my sincere thanks to Per Henry and his wife Suzanne Weeks for their patient collaboration and to members of their family too, as well as the many of their friends who have helped me put together this story of an exceptionally congenial Viking.
